July 25 - Sportscar and vintage racer Robert Hoe Fergus born (1924).

- Roger Ward defeats the creme of US sportscar racers when he wins the Formula Libra race at Lime Rock in an Offenhauser powered Kurtis midget (1959).

July 26 - Jimmy Murphy wins the ACF Grand Prix at Le Mans in a Dusenberg. First win for an American driver and an American car in a European GP (1921).

July 27 - Jim Hall announces his retirement as a CART team owner (1996).

July 28 - Sportscar racer Yannick Dalmas born (1961).

July 29 - Roger Williamson dies in crash during the Dutch Grand Prix (1973).

July 31 - NASCAR stars Richard Petty, Curtis Turner, Wendell Scott, and David Pearson participate in an SCCA Trans-Am road race (1966).
