World-Famous Budweiser Clydesdales Return To Colorado Springs On July 17 For Pikes Peak International Hill Climb "Fan Fest" Downtown, 5:00-10:00 p.m.
Colorado Springs, June 7----The World-Famous Budweiser Clydesdales, the nation's "Marvels of Main Street," are coming to Colorado Springs on Friday, July 17, as a highlight of the 87th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb "Fan Fest," in downtown Colorado Springs.
The huge, powerful horses will be Downtown starting at 5:00 p.m. along with their 50-foot semi-trailers and their Gold wagon for the public to see and enjoy up close as the Fan Fest, presented by Budweiser, kicks off the exciting evening for an expected 30,000 race fans.
The scene has become a familiar one throughout the years. No big-time event like the Hill Climb is complete without the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales, pulling a red, white and gold beer wagon down a Main Street that has come to life with the cheers and applause of onlookers.
Fan Fest on Tejon, Bijou and Platte, will include seven blocks of entertainment from 5:00-10:00 p.m. for the public to enjoy, like the chance to meet the drivers and racers, see their cars and motorcycles, music with live local bands, a Firefighters Chili Cook-Off, food and refreshments, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb's Mobile Museum, a merchandise and race ticket booth, displays of custom cars and motorcycles, and stuff for kids like Freestyle Motocross Jumping exhibitions.
Then, two days later, it's the "Race to The Clouds." The Turbocharged Ford Fiestas and their super-star International drivers are coming to take a crack at the 10-minute barrier at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on Sunday, July 19.
So is the Japanese ace, Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima in his Suzuki XL7, and British Rallycross Champion Mark Rennison in his Ford RS200.
This unprecedented four-way showdown highlights one of the most exciting Pikes Peak Hill Climb events in history, and you and your whole family will want to be up there to see it, hear the roar, get the jolt of excitement when you see the cars, trucks and motorcycles tackle the twists and turns in the Race To The Clouds.
