Hill Climb: latest decisions and 2014 calendars

Gathered on 4 December 2013 in Paris, the World Motor Sport Council took the following decisions regarding Hill Climb.

Paul Gutjahr from Switzerland was re-elected as President of the FIA Hill Climb Commission, as well as Czech Stan Minarik as Vice-President. Moreover, the Commission will be made up of representatives from the ASNs (National Sporting Authorities) from Austria, Chinese Taipei, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and the United Kingdom. Paul Gutjahr will also sit as a member by right on the new Closed Road Commission, the President of which will be Ari Vatanen and the primary focus of which will be safety issues for rally and hill climb competitions.

The Sporting Regulations of the FIA Hill Climb Masters were approved and the organisation of the first edition of this competition, scheduled for 11 and 12 October 2014, was awarded to Eschdorf in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Within the framework of the general reform of international licences, it should be noted that the new Grade D Licence will not be admitted in international Hill Climb competitions. From now on, all hill climb drivers must hold a car driving licence. All Drivers shall also be required to present their car’s national technical passport during administrative checks and scrutineering at competitions counting towards the FIA European Hill Climb Championship, the FIA International Hill Climb Cup and the FIA Hill Climb Masters.
