French circuit of Paul Armagnac in Nogaro was the season opener of Blancpain Sprint Series 2015, after an intense program of testing before the starting of the season, Danish brothers Anders and Thomas Fjordbach arrived to this first weekend of official competition with a clear objective... Finally here we are, this weekend it’s going to be exciting, we know that it will be the first meeting back at the wheel of the Audi R8 in this series but for sure we will put all the effort to start the season with a good result” said a motivated Anders Fjordbach during the Friday track walk.

The race format of the meeting established two practices, 2+1 qualifying sessions, the Qualifying Race on Sunday and the Main Race on Monday. The brothers started early to work to adapt the car to track in the practice and qualifying with ISR engineers for having the correct balance and feeling for the following races.

Solid race rhythm

Qualifying race was pretty good for the Aalborg drivers pair, they started from eight line in starting grid and they were able to climb into seventh place in an excellent race which Thomas and Anders showed his solid race rhythm without mistakes and major problems. Fjordbach brothers also won with authority the Silver Cup, composed by drivers under 25 years old.

Monday’s Main race, with a grid formed by the results of the previous day, Anders and Thomas Fjordbach ended in twelve position after battling during last part of the race with the Russian Mercedes SLS AMG. Another first place was achieved for the Danish team in Silver Cup, in which they were best than his rivals Olivier Lombard and Jules Szymkowiak.

Thomas Fjordbach reported after leaving the podium: It was a good first weekend of Blancpain Sprint Series, yesterday we made a good race and today was a little bit difficult climb positions but the sensations were good on the track. It’s a good starting point for improve during the season. Thanks to ISR Racing, for the fantastic car during all the weekend”

Anders Fjordbachby his hand explained: In Qualifying Race we had a strong race and today for some or other reason we were unable to find the race pace we did yesterday. We managed to hold on to the lead in Silver Cup, but the speed of the Bentley showed that we will have a great fight all season long. In next weekends we will put things hard to other contenders!”

Next racing compromise for High Class Racing will be in Autódromo Nazionale di Monza (11-12/April) on the first round of Blancpain Endurance Series.
