Ni Amorim is driving a Marcos LM600 in the GT2 class of the Spanish GT Championship at the Jarama round this weekend. The team Meycom Motorsport has invited Ni Amorim to compete in this race as Ni Amorim is not competing at Brno in the Fia GT series. This is, for now, a one-off race, in a deal that may see future participations in this series.

After his first contact with the car on friday, in which he did 15 laps, Ni Amorim set the Pole Position for the first of two races, and placed second for the second race, beating the Saleen's, Viper's and Porsches.

"The car is quite difficult to drive on the limit, much more than the Viper's and Porsche's that I am more used to, but it's still fun, and rewards you for being agressive. I really had to dig deep to get the pole, and I am very satisfied as it is the first time that this car has been at the sharp end of the grid. For the second qualifying things did not go so well, but I am only 3/100s away from the pole, so it's not too bad. For the race, with temperatures in the 90's we have a strategy that might allow us to overcame the Saleen's and the Viper's, so we'll see."

Ni Amorim is still in talks to return to the FIA GT Championship. After 4 wins and 11 podium finishes since he first started competing in the FIA GT, Ni wants to add a championship win to his CV. More on this later next week.
