MICHELA CERRUTI'S EXPECTATIONS FOR THE RACE AT MISANO IN THE ITALIAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP
This weekend the Misano World Circuit will house the opening round of the Italian GT 2010 Championship.
Michela Cerruti will be on track in crew with Francesca Linossi behind the wheel of the F430 Ferrari GT Cup of the team AeffeM in her debut in GT races. This commitment will be parallel to that in the Superstars Series in a sportive programme that will concede the Lombard driver very few breaks.
The Misano World Circuit, denominated until 2006 "International Circuit Santa Monica" is located in the town of Misano Adriatico in the Italian province of Rimini. It has been designed and built under the aegis of Enzo Ferrari by the engineer Cavazzuti. The built started in 1970 and ended in 1972. Starting from 1980, the circuit housed some motor bikes grand prixes until 1993, when a terrible accident stopped the career of the three times world champion of class 500, Wayne Rainey. Renovation works followed and brought the track length from 3.488 meters to 4.060, offering for the first time a 'short' and 'long' version of the track. In 2007, motorbike world championship came back and some important modifications were made for the occasion, such as the lap direction that became clockwise, the extension of the track to 4.180 meters and widening to 14 meters, the elimination of a chicane and the construction of some grand stands. The circuit was named "Misano World Circuit" and it is now one of the most advanced tracks in terms of safety and offered services.
"I am a bit excited for the debut in this all-female project on which the team believes. During winter tests everything went well and the feeling with the car starts to be the right one; I am confortable with Francesca and I believe we can form an. interesting crew! Now we just have to wait for the track verdict.".
