PTG BMW M3 TEAM Notes & quotes Saturday...Race 1-1-1

Morning Warmup & Pre-race:

The team used the morning warmup session to make a relaxed final check of systems and practice driver changes. The easygoing atmosphere was heightened by the presence in the back of the pit enclosure of an appropriately crudely fabricated plywood outhouse -- tastefully labeled "Drivers' Lounge." Vying for the honor of class clown with his real-life boss, Mark Simo (co-founder of No Fear), Boris Said quickly grabbed some equally tasteful white racer's tape and a magic marker, and rechristened it "Team Owner's Think Tank." Team owner Milner and the crew loved it.

BILL AUBERLEN; #10 Yokohama/Fina BMW M3; pole in GT-3: "We're ready to go.I don't want to go and jinx anything, but I think we've got something strong to take to the race."

MARC DUEZ; #10 Yokohama/Fina BMW M3; pole in GT-3: "The car is perfect. No vibration, no noises; and, for me, it is very comfortable."

DIETER QUESTER; #6 Yokohama/Fina BMW M3; 3rd in GT-3: "No real changes. We ran the car about like yesterday. For me, the car is perfect."

DEREK HILL; #7 Yokohama BMW M3; 7th in GT-3: "Overall, we have as good as ever. I think we have the perfect car for the race."

ROSS BENTLEY; #7 Yokohama BMW M3; 7th in GT-3: "The car is perfect. It's probably not the fastest car out there, but it is very forgiving. We can just drive around anyone. All we have to do now is keep running for 24 hours."

TOM MILNER, team owner: "I feel pretty relaxed. I think we can win this race; and if we don't it will be some mistake we made.We can go five second slower than we are capable of going. You have to have good judgment early. At night you have to be very sharp. A 24-hour race is a real test of how good a team is. After that...you need that little bit of racing luck."

Milner must be relaxed, as he has cooked up what could be a very amusing...ummm..."activity" for one of the team's pit stops -- provided that things stay quiet. Stay tuned.
