Xero Competition Enter Belcar Race in Place of the Final British GT Round

Xero Competition will compete in the Belcar Championship at Spa-Francorchamps on 26 September instead of going to Brands Hatch for the final round of the British GT Championship.

The team decided to take part in this race in the Belgian series after enjoying the trip out to Spa during last years GT Championship and will do it in place of the final round of the British GT Championship at Brands Hatch. The team favouring Spa over the Indy circuit at Brands as the season has already been decided and the team have achieved all they can this year. Xero wanted a fresh challenge and Spa appealed a lot more than completing the British championship on the Indy circuit at Brands.

Usual drivers Ricky Cole and Peter Le Bas will compete and look forward to racing amongst the European GT and touring cars in a series that usually attracts large grids.

"Spa is one of the most fabulous tracks in the World and when given the choice between Brands Indy and Spa-Francorchamps it was an easy decision to make. Ricky and I go very well at spa and have great memories of racing there over the years. We are very excited about racing in a new class against a completely different grid. We're not quite sure what to expect however we know the awesome 'Vette won't let us down, and we have every intention to bring home trophies. Let the racing begin!" Peter Le Bas commented. Ricky Cole continued: "It's really good Xero expanding into Europe and trying their hand at different championships. It also gives them the chance to explore possible options for the future."

"The team are all really looking forward to the trip out to Belgium this month and it will be interesting to see how we can fare in a different championship. We are currently preparing the car as the Belcar does not have the same regulations as British GT and so far the car is looking extremely quick!" commented Dave Beecroft, Xero Team Principal.
