Ryan Hooker setting his sights on Snetterton

Ryan Hooker (Essex) competes in the third round of the British GT Championship at Snetterton at the weekend (5-6th June). After a dramatic pair of opening rounds, Ryan is looking forward to visiting the Norfolk circuit and hopes the result will echo past glories he has previously had at the fast and sweeping circuit.

"In many ways, Snetterton is like another home circuit to me" says Ryan. "I have had five victories in other series at the circuit and it has some wonderful high speed corners which I look forward to tackling with the Corvette. Coram Curve and Bomb Hole are corners in which you have to be totally committed, I think this circuit will produce British GT racing at its best." With the Team Jensen car capable of speeds in excess of 170mph, it is set to be an exciting weekend.

Ryan goes to Snetterton on the back of a double win in the Porsche 924 series at Croft and hopes his luck will follow to his GT campaign. "It has been trying not to have finished the first set of races" Ryan notes, "but I am going to Snetterton confident and as a team we are aiming to come away with two strong race finishes." The British GT is covered on Channel 4 and Motors TV UK.

Ryan has also announced plans to compete in the world's longest race - the Uniroyal Spa 25hours in Belgium. The Spa 25 hours, 9-11th July, sees over 110 identical race cars based on the VW Beetle chassis take to the track, powered by 1.8l VW/Audi engines. "It's an event I'm really looking forward to" says Ryan. "It's a lot of fun and the chance to race at Spa is one you can never pass up."
