Pullan ready ror rirst GT race.
New Rollcentre Racing signing, Simon Pullan is on target for his British GT Championship debut following a productive two day test at Silverstone.
"The test went very well. It was fairly wet for most of the second day's running but it was a nice start to the season and a chance for me to get the feel of the car," he commented. "We posted some good times and were pretty much at the top of the time sheets which is encouraging going into the first round.
"I'm still on a learning curve but I'm confident we'll be on the pace and able to achieve a good result. Both myself and team boss, Martin Short would like to win the first race but a finish is the main priority in order to get points on the board early on in the year."
Pullan, 19, begins his British GT campaign at Brands Hatch on April 1. Having clinched two championships in three years - the 1999 Formula Locost series and 2001 Caterham Superlight EuroCup- he has his sights set firmly on the GTO class spoils.
"I love racing on the Grand Prix circuit at Brands Hatch. It's definitely one of the best tracks in the country and the very fast Hawthorns bend will be especially exciting in the GT car. This circuit saw Martin's first win in the Tuscan R last season with Rob Barff and we will be going all out to repeat it on April 1st. That would be just magic.
"As far as the long term plan for the season goes, we're in it to win it. Make no mistake, that's what we're here to do.
"We're not expecting that the championship will be easy as there's a very strong field all looking to beat us to the title. The Ferrari, the Tim Sugden Porsche and the Morgan are all quick cars but that's going to make things all the more exciting as the season progresses."
In addition to his British GT Championship commitments, Pullan will also compete in two rounds of the 2002 Michelin Porsche Cup as a follow up to his Young Driver of the Year award nomination.
