The 2009 Australian GT Champion David Wall is set to fight for back-to-back championships.
David will return to the Australian GT Championship in the car that he drove to victory in 2009, only this year David will be running the highly sought after number 1 on the car rather than his traditional number 38.
Joining David this year will be new sponsor Wilson Security.
David has worked with the Wilson Security previously during his stint with the Wilson Security Racing V8 Supercar team in the two endurance races last year.
Returning this year with David will be his loyal sponsors Payce, Shannons and Mount Aqua.
While David will continue his long-standing relationship with his engineer, it will be a family affair this year with his dad and the rest of Wall Racing running the car.
As a result of David returning to the championship with the same car he won the 2009 championship in, David will start the season with the same parity adjustments that he had at the end of the championship in an effort to ensure the pack can catch him.
With a number of new cars in the field David knows he will not having it all his own way this year, but is confident he will be in a position to fight for podium positions.
"I can't wait to get back out on the track and I can't think of a better place to start the season off that the Clipsal 500," said David.
"The circuit is challenging and the atmosphere is amazing.
"Towards the end of last year the parity adjustments saw the field really close in on me so I know I will not have everything my own way this year -- but I am looking forward to the battle."
David has not been idle since winning the Championship in the final round in December last year. Last month David teamed up with his father Des and Trevor Symonds to finish in 2nd place in the Armor All Bathurst 12-Hour Showroom Enduro.
The season kicks off with the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide next week and will be followed by the 2010 Formula One Qantas Australian Grand Prix just two weeks later.
