Great Cars And Trucks Brings Camaro to AGT
Phoenix, AZ- Great Cars and Trucks Racing announces its participation in the American GT Challenge series with an entry to the Lime Rock Park event over the July 4th weekend. Driver Mark Shaffer will compete in the number 21 Camaro. Shaffer is a veteran of Grand American Road Racing's Rolex Series, NASA, SCCA GT-1, Vintage Racing, Super Late Models and the Ultra Wheels Super Truck series.
"We have been watching the steady growth of this series and believe it is the place to race these cars now and in the future," said Shaffer. "We are based in Phoenix and a haul to the East coast for Lime Rock is nothing when you consider the week end with ALMS and the racers entered, and our desire to have a fair and honest series for these cars. We look forward to lining up our Camaro for this event and the rest of the season."
"It is gratifying to see the interest in the series is beginning to head West. We are working on the 2005 schedule and the end of the year for 2004 and our interest for the Midwest and the West is quite high," commented Todd Benne, Director of Operations for the American GT Road Racing Association. "Our goal is to have a much broader footprint across the country in the next two to three years."
Great Cars and Trucks is an exotic pre-owned automobile dealership in Phoenix, AZ.
The American GT Challenge uses purpose built tube frame chassis cars, power by a V-8 & V-6 engine, with composite bodies, replicating series produced American touring or grand touring cars competing exclusively on Goodyear Racing Tires. For more information visit www.americangt.com.
The American GT Challenge's next stop is at Lime Rock Park in Danbury, CT. July 2-3rd, in participation with the American LeMans Series.
