Wilton, CT- Mike Canney, driver and owner of the Intelligence Data Systems Corvette, number 76, announced the team's intentions to compete in the inagural season of the American GT Challenge. The team will compete in the AGT with an Irv Hoerr built 2002 C6 Corvette. Sponsorship will be provided by Intelligence Data Systems, a Northern Virginia based defense contractor. Canney will enter his junior season in road racing, having started his career in 2002. In that year Mike finished a career best second place and earned third overall in points in the SCCA American Sedan class, in a Ford Mustang. For the 2003 season, the team continued in the American Sedan class, with a win at Virginia International Raceway. By the end of the season, Mike had won 7 of 11 races in the Intelligence Data Systems Mustang, and won the SCCA-MARRS championship.

The 2004 season will bring Canney and his team into the American GT Challenge for the team's first efforts into professional racing. Canney is anxious to start the year and looks for a successful effort.

The American GT Challenge will open its inaugural season at South Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina April 10 through 11th. The American GT Challenge uses purpose built tube frame chassis cars, power by a V-8 & V-6 engine, with composite bodies, replicating series produced American touring or grand touring cars.
