(May 18, 2001) Qualifying for Saturday's Six Hour Race from Watkins Glen International was scheduled to take place this afternoon at 3 pm. The skies opened up just before the qualifying session commenced, putting a damper on the times that were posted.

Most teams were unable to post decent times as the session was interrupted by 2 black flags. In two separate incidents, there were a number of cars that ended up in the wall, bringing out the black flags that shortened the time of the session. There were two separate 20-minute sessions scheduled, that ended up being called after approximately 24 minutes. The Miracle Motorsports/Serta Mattress #6 entry, being piloted by Ross Bentley (Vancouver, B.C.) posted two laps, the first of which was 2:17.377, placing the driving team of John Macaluso (Old Forge, NY), Brent Sherman (Barrington, IL), and Ross Bentley, in the 5th place position on the qualifying grid. Pole position is held by the Dyson Racing team with a time of 2:12.728.

The Grand American Rolex SportsCar Series six-hour event from Watkins Glen will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2001, kicking off at 2:30 pm. Highlights will be aired on the Speedvision Network on Saturday, May 26th. Please visit our website at www.miraclemotorsports.com for race updates and results.
