Seattle, WA -- Chris Bingham will be looking to continue towards the Grand Am Rolex Series GTS Championship as he continues with Park Place Racing at the Sports Car Grand Prix at the Glen this weekend.

Chris Bingham will try to take home his third straight win at Watkins Glen with Park Place Racing. On his march to the Championship last season, Chris Bingham took home two wins at the Watkins Glen track driving for Park Place Racing.

Those two wins last season came with the Ron Johnson as his co-driver. This season, Bingham will have Rodney Mall as his co-driver. Mall joined the Park Place Racing effort at Phoenix International Raceway, and immediately the duo scored a win in the #5 K&N Filter sponsored Saleen S7R.

In addition to his GTS class ride with Park Place Racing, Bingham has also recently been contracted to drive an IRL car for Zali Racing. "My focus is still on the Grand Am Championship. Along the way, we are going to do some IRL races that don't conflict with the schedule.

"We are working on plans for next season, and I am looking for driving opportunities. My main focus will be on winning this Championship, but I will also be looking at what opportunities are out there for me for next year."

Although Bingham is leading the GTS Championship, he finds himself looking for a ride already for 2003. "Park Place Racing will be officially closing their doors at the end of the season," commented Bingham. "The team has allowed me to search out other rides that don't conflict with the GTS races this year. So I am looking at where I can end up for next season. I enjoy the Grand Am Rolex Series, but I am open to racing in any kind of sports cars of open wheel cars."

Qualifying for this weekend's Sports Car Grand Prix at the Glen will be held Saturday afternoon and the six hour race will be held Sunday at 11:00 AM.
