Camirand Turns Top-Ten Times during Practice Session

The beautiful balmy weather created perfect practice session conditions for the Spirit of Daytona at Watkins Glen on Thursday afternoon for the Crown Royal 250. Marc-Antoine Camirand powered the 09 Crawford Daytona Prototype (DP) to the 9th fastest lap time turned after the hour and one-half session. The Spiralz/Speedcom/Chemcraft DP turned a lap time of 1:47:757 minutes after completing 29 laps.

"Je suis content," said Camirand, meaning I am happy, after he climbed out of the DP. " I like this track a lot and I think it shows with the lap times. The team did a good job setting the car up for the long course. I think this being our third visit here we have finally gotten a good handle on the setup. This session shows how far the team has improved from the first race here in June to now. We are making a small adjustment to the front suspension and gears which should help us get closer to the top of the pack."

The 09 DP will be back on track Friday morning at 9:00AM. Troy Flis, team- owner/manager, commented on the practice session. "Marc drove the car well and the team did a great job with the setup. It seems only logical that we improve each time we make an appearance at the Glen. I think we have a lot of potential for this weekend's race and as long as everything works the way it should, we have a chance at placing high."

Camirand and co-driver/owner Doug Goad will be racing on Saturday September 24, at 3:00PM at the Glen.
