Qualifying Rained Out at Watkins Glen, TRG Porsches to Start from 2nd and 4th positions

Watkins Glen, NY -- August 12, 2004 - Qualifying for tomorrow's Grand-American Rolex Sports Car Series race was rained out today; the starting grid for tomorrow's race was determined by team points, meaning that the TRG Porsches will start in 2nd and 4th positions in the GT class. Chris Gleason will start the #66 F1 Air/Gleason Agency Porsche in 2nd position, and in time will share the car with co-drivers RJ Valentine and Ian James. Kevin Buckler and Liz Halliday will start the race in 4th position, on the outside of the 9th row overall.

Team owner Kevin Buckler was disappointed with the decision to cancel qualifying. "We worked all day today on our wet setup," he said, "and we're all used to racing in adverse conditions, so I'm not sure why qualifying was cancelled. I think we nailed our setup, and because we anticipate rain for the race tomorrow, it would have been really good to battle with the other teams here to determine our starting positions. That said, we've had a solid season so far, so we're happy to be starting 4th. It's going to be a challenging race tomorrow -- the shortened course plus the rain will make it fun for all of us. Liz is doing a great job in the rain, and I fully expect both cars to challenge for the podium tomorrow."

The Grand-American Rolex Sports Car Series will race in support of NASCAR in the Sahlen's 200 this week. The race will be broadcast on Speed Channel at 10pm ET on Friday, August 13th.
