Kodak EasyShare Team Qualifies 16th for Sunday's Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y., June 19 - Forest Barber saved his best for last.

His seventh and final lap in the 15-minute qualifying session for the Daytona Prototype class was his fastest in the session Saturday at Watkins Glen International and earned him the 16th starting spot in class and overall for tomorrow's Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen Rolex series race.

Barber's official qualifying time in Bell Motorsports' Kodak EasyShare DORAN JE4 Pontiac #54 was a 1:54.705 for the 3.4-mile, 11-turn historic road course, or 106.709 mph.

The Fort Worth driver and his co-drivers, Terry Borcheller of Gainesville, Ga. and Andy Pilgrim of Delray Beach, Fla., will share the car in tomorrow's race, which will be broadcast live on SPEED beginning at 11 a.m. Eastern time.

"I'm disappointed with qualifying, but the car feels good and I think it will be good for the race," Barber said. "I picked up a lot of speed from where I was yesterday.

"The Bell Motorsports/Kodak EasyShare team is working really hard," he added. "I'm looking forward to making a full lap on my first lap tomorrow, and not getting hit and spinning on the first lap like at Homestead and Phoenix. Hopefully all three of us will have smooth sailing tomorrow."
