SFoW Announces Second Maserati Entry For VIR

DULLES, VA (September 28): The SFoW Maserati team, 2002 and 2003 Rolex Sports Car Series GT Champions, today announced that they will run a second Maserati Trofeo Light GT. The first entry for the new car will be at the upcoming VIR 400 Presented by Sun Trust, on October 3rd. The new #34 Maserati joins the team's familiar #33, and will be sponsored by Algar Maserati, the authorized Maserati dealer for the Philadelphia area, and Putnam Leasing. Jeff Segal and Darius Grala have been named to drive the Maserati.

"This is another significant step toward our 2005 program," explained Glenn Marquis, SFoW Team Manager. "Maserati Corse has incorporated everything we've learned into the new car, and having two cars is a major assist to our development program. I also think the fans are going to enjoy the sounds of two of these exceptional V8s on the track."

Jeff Segal honed his skills in BMW club racing before joining the Ferrari Challenge in 2003. He has been a consistent top finisher, taking his first win in only his second race in the series. Segal is combining his college studies with his racing career. Darius Grala began racing in 1999, in the Sports Toyota series. He later moved to the Ferrari Challenge, winning that championship in 2002. Grala also owns his own team, Cegwa Racing, and has raced a Daytona Prototype in the Rolex Sports Car Series.

The VIR 400 Presented by Sun Trust will be televised live on the SPEED Channel, beginning at noon (EST) on Sunday, October 3.

Primary sponsorship for the SFoW Maserati team comes from Maserati of Washington. Additional support is provided by Simply Wireless, Inc., one of the nation's premiere wireless retailers; TubiStyle, the leading after-market supplier of exhaust systems for exotic cars; Putnam Leasing, one of the oldest specialty vehicle leasing companies in the United States; Tradition, a world leader in the brokerage of financial and non-financial products; and J.L. Earle, M.D., P.A. Orthopaedic Surgery.
