PRUETT CLAIMS FIFTH POLE OF SEASON FOR NINE-HOUR FINALE AT MILLER PARK

TOOELE, Utah (September 1, 2006) -- Scott Pruett paced Rolex Series Daytona Prototype qualifying for a record ninth time today in preparation for Saturday's nine-hour Grand American season finale at Miller Motorsports Park. Pruett and co-driver Luis Diaz lead the Team and Manufacturer championship races, but trail Jorg Bergmeister by 19 points for the Driver's title.

The 2004 Series Champion locked himself on the inside of Row 1 with a fast time of 2:37.998 (102.214mph) around the 4.486-mile track in the 15-minute qualifying session, giving CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates its fifth pole position of the season. The team continues to lead the 2006 Rolex Sports Car Series in both the pole position (5) and win (5) categories.

The pole marks the 20th in 40 career Rolex Series starts for the no.01 CompUSA Lexus-Riley, and the first since co-driver Diaz won the pole for Daytona in Round 10.

CGRFS Driver Quoteboard

SCOTT PRUETT "I'm happy with the lap, but the car started to push a bit after we set the fast time, so we still have a little work to do in the warm-up session tomorrow. We're continuing to do everything in our power to control our own destiny in the championship chase. I think the CompUSA car will be good for the race, and having Scott Dixon join us this weekend is an added bonus. Our goal remains to clinch the Team and Manufacturer titles for Chip Ganassi Racing and Lexus. We have a car that can do it, but anything can happen in a nine-hour race."
