Turner BMW's seeking second consecutive podium at Road America

Amesbury, MA. -- Turner Motorsport will head to Road America this weekend to compete in Round 9 of the 2013 Grand-Am season. Despite a disappointing run at Indianapolis the No. 94 GT Class M3 remains 5th in GT championship points with four more races remaining.

The 4.048–mile 14 turn circuit is the largest track the team visits and one of the driver's favorites for its sweeping high speed turns and long straights. Last year at Road America, Bill Auberlen and Paul Dalla Lana finished 2ndin the No. 94 GT Class M3 on the heels of the No. 69 Ferrari. Auberlen is no stranger to the podium at Road America with wins in 2009 and 2012, both in BMWs.

This year Auberlen and Dalla Lana will pair up to do double duty in the No. 94 Rolex GT car and the No. 96 GS Continental Sports Car Challenge M3."Road America is one of my favorite tracks in the world and I get to race it three times this weekend – ALMS GT, Rolex GT and CTSCC GS." Commented Bill Auberlen.

The No. 93 GT Class M3 will see returning drivers Michael Marsal and BMW Motorsport factory driver , Maxime Martin, for the VisitFlorida.com Sports Car 250. Michael Marsal returns to the team after missing his first race (Indianapolis) in his four year career with Turner Motorsport.

"I am extremely excited to get back in the No. 93 Turner GT M3. I was unable to commit to the team for Indianapolis but I am back and ready to drive the No. 93 up to the front with co-driver Maxime Martin." Said Michael Marsal. "Road America is a very long and fast track which does not allow much room for error."

Maxime Martin gets back behind the wheel of a blue and yellow Turner M3 for the first time since the 2013 season opener at the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. Since January Martin has celebrated numerous podiums and victories in both ALMS and the Blancpain Endurance Series.

Road America will mark the first and the last time ALMS and Grand-Am will run as separate series at the same track on the same weekend, the next time the two series race together will be Daytona in January of 2014 to kick off the inaugural United Sports Car Racing Series season.
