Rolex Sports Car Series
Dorsey Schroeder - SportsRacing Prototype Polesitter & Sunday's Race Overall Polesitter
Dyson Racing Team #20 Ford Riley & Scott
"I had the pole early, and I didn't like where it was at, so I stayed out there and improved on it. I came in, and they told me that James (Weaver) had bettered my time. I really didn't want to start on the outside here, because it's a bad position going into turns one and two, so I went back out to improve my time again. I really used all the track on that lap. I'm surprised I didn't scrap the paint off the thing."
"I've had some real battles at this track. I've been coming up here for years, before I was even old enough to really drive, but I've never won here. I've led a lot laps here, but never actually won. So, I'm desperate for a win finally."
James Weaver - SportsRacing Prototype Second Fastest & Sunday's Race Front Row Starter
Dyson Racing Team #16 Ford Riley & Scott
"I came in and parked it after (crew chief) Pat (Smith) said I had done well enough for pole. I thought they were going to do the same to Dorsey, but he ended up going back out."
"It's lovely here. They do a really nice job with it. It's nice that its an enormous crowd."
Kerry Hitt - American GT Polesitter & Saturday's Race Overall Polesitter
ACP Motorsports #46 Corvette
"The crew did a great job. We had a lot of good help. This is my first Rolex Series pole. It's wonderful (that I'm on the front row). It's a nice responsibility."
"I love the track. They did a great job setting it up. The corner workers are the best I have ever seen."
Kenny Bupp - American GT Second Fastest & Saturday's Race Front Row Starter
Hamilton Safe Motorsports #11 Camaro
"Considering what little track time we had, being on the front row is great. I only recorded six laps in the car before qualifying. We threw an oil pump belt during practice on Friday and broke a brand new motor. This morning I let Jon (Leavy) in the car first, since he hadn't had any track time, and then we broke a battery terminal, which is unheard of, so I never got in the car this morning.
"The street course is the most precise track we race on. This track has the best fans of anywhere we go."
Spencer Pumpelly - GT Polesitter
Zip/Pumpelly Racing #34 Porsche GT3 R
"It was great. We tried to get out early, because we knew there would be a lot of different cars out there. I got up early, but stayed out there incase anyone was able to get ahead of us. Since I wasn't that far away from the front row, I tried to pick up some time at the end, but couldn't quite make it. We are happy with the pole though."
(on both his pole positions coming at the Rolex Series' two shortest tracks)
"Lime Rock and here are completely different. Lime Rock is a really fast, flowing track, where here there are a lot of tight braking turns. I think that some of the other top drivers decided to not qualifying their cars, and that helped us out, but I think the car would have been highly competitive anyway."
Andy Lally - SportsRacing Prototype II Polesitter
Archangel Motorsport Services #22 Nissan Lola
"We've been struggling all weekend. We sat down with the data last night, and our engineer made some really good calls and gave me a fast car today."
"That one point (for winning the pole position) could be very crucial for us, since the points are so close."
(on getting into the tires at the end of qualifying)
"I let off the brake a little earlier than normal, and it didn't work. The car looks like it doesn't have too much damage."
Doug Goad - Super Grand Sport Pole Sitter
Powell Motorsports #011 Corvette (SGS Class)
Team X-1R #09 Corvette (AGT Class)
"Basically my plan is to keep the #011 clean and out of trouble. Somewhere with in the first 30 minutes, I'll bring it in and give it over to Devon (Powell) for the remainder of the race. Then I'll be on the wall for when Craig (Conway) brings the #09 in."
(On driving in both the SGS and AGT classes)
"This was just another opportunity and challenge. I'm glad Grand-Am is allowing me to get points in both classes. The first step today was for me to win the pole in the SGS class, so that we can keep our points lead in check."
Chris Bingham - GTS Polesitter
Fordahl Motorsports/Park Place Racing #5 Saleen S7R
"It was a great run, other than the fact that I didn't have second gear. I took it easy, got some clean laps and took another pole."
