MILLVILLE, NJ (May 12, 2012) – Ricky Taylor put the No. 10 SunTrust Racing Corvette Daytona Prototype (DP) on the pole for Sunday’s Barber 250 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series race at New Jersey Motorsports Park. His lap of 1 minute, 15.091 seconds at 107.869 mph put Taylor on the pole for the second consecutive year at the 2.25-mile, 14-turn road circuit located about an hour south of Philadelphia

Taylor and his teammate Max Angelelli are the most recent Rolex winners, taking the victory two weeks ago at Homestead-Miami Speedway. It is the first pole of the 2012 season for the pair.

This is the second pole-winning effort for Chevrolet Racing’s Corvette DP in the first four events of the 13 race 2012 GRAND-AM Road Racing season.

John Edwards gave Chevrolet its second number one qualifying effort when he turned in the fastest time in the Rolex Grand Touring (GT) class behind the wheel of the No. 57 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro GT.R.

All five Corvette Daytona Prototype teams will start in the top-six 2.75-hour race. Starting alongside the SunTrust Corvette DP will be Jon Fogarty in the No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Corvette DP. Starting third will be the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Corvette DP with Michael Valiante behind the wheel.

Terry Borcheller, No. 9 Action Express Racing Corvette DP, will roll off fifth, and David Donohue, No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP, will start in the sixth position.

In GT, Boris Said, No. 31 Marsh Racing Whelan Corvette, will start sixth in class. Paul Edwards, No. 88 Autohaus Motorsports Camaro GT.R, qualified for the seventh in-class starting position.

In the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Grand Sport (GS) class, Lawson Aschenbach, No. 01 CKS Autosport Camaro GS.R, turned in the second quickest time to grab a front row starting position. John Edwards, wheeling the No. 9 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro GS.R, turned in the fourth quickest time for today’s 2.5-hour race. The B+ Heroes 200 CTSCC race runs today at 3:15 p.m. ET.
