Synergy Racing Already Testing for 2007 Rolex 24 At Daytona
With new Porsche en route, preparations for 2007 well underway
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 30, 2006) -- While Synergy Racing is enjoying a successful season with its pair of GT entries in the Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve, the team is already actively making plans for the 2007 season. With a new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup type 997 on order, Synergy Racing is set to campaign four Porsche GT entries in the season-opening 2007 Rolex 24 At Daytona.
"We've made some great progress with the new Porsche GT3 Cup cars this season, and we are eager to have a very competitive team with two programs and two cars in each," said Cole Scrogham, Synergy Racing team co-owner. "It seems odd to be discussing the Rolex 24 in June, but we've always believed preparation is the key to success, and we plan to be successful at the 2007 Rolex 24 and throughout the entire 2007 season."
Synergy Racing has already held its first test session with potential drivers for the 2007 Rolex 24 At Daytona at Virginia International Raceway and has three days of testing at Daytona International Speedway scheduled in October.
Scrogham reports he has finalized plans for three of the team's four GT Porsches slated to run in the Rolex 24, and an announcement about them is in the works. The team has not completely finalized plans for the its other Rolex 24 Porsche or its season-long GT effort, however discussions and planning are underway.
While making plans for 2007, Synergy Racing is also working to continue advancement of the No. 80 SHOES FOR CREWS® Porsche and No. 81 Comfort Systems USA Porsche this season. Currently fifth and ninth, respectively, in the Rolex Series GT team standings, the all-Porsche Synergy stable will get some updates for the final four races of the season and wrap up 2006 on a high note
