Season Opens Jan 29-30 With 49th Rolex 24 At Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 18, 2010) - A return to historic Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif. and Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis. highlight the 2011 schedule for the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16.

The first Rolex Series race at Road America since 2001 will be held on Saturday, June 25, run in conjunction with a NASCAR Nationwide Series race. The series returns for the sixth time to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday, July 9.

The 12-event schedule features many of America's storied road circuits, beginning with the 49th running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona on Jan. 29-30, and concluding on Sept. 17 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

In addition to Road America, the Rolex Series will run as a companion event with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series at Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen, N.Y. on August 13, and with the NASCAR Nationwide Series at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada on August 20.

Other races include the Grand Prix of Miami, March 5 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Homestead, Fla.; the Porsche 250 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala. on April 9; the Bosch Engineering 250 at Virginia International Raceway in Danville, Va. on May 14; the Memorial Day Classic at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Ct. on May 30; the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International, June 4; and the New Jersey 250 at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, N.J. on July 24.
