Synergy Racing Porsche 997 Quickest at The Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (June 10, 2005) -- The Synergy Racing No. 81 Porsche 997 of Brent Martini (Laguna Beach, Calif.) and Kelly Collins (Newport Beach, Calif.) clocked the fastest time during practice on Friday for the Grand-Am Cup Series Chemung Canal Trust 200 at Watkins Glen International.

The No. 81 Porsche 997 recorded a 2:06.102 lap averaging 97.064 mph around the historic 3.4-mile road course during the second Grand-Am Cup practice session, which was cut short by heavy rain.

The impressive lap time is indicative of the tremendous progress made by the team, Martini and Collins this season since giving the Porsche 997 is series debut at the Daytona season opener in February. After overcoming new car gremlins and developmental issues earlier in the season, the team feels confident it can show the world what the new 997 has to offer.

"We are finally getting our development program to pay dividends, and hope soon to announce a customer support package for the new Porsche 997 in the Grand-Am Cup class for 2006," team owner Cole Scrogham said.

Synergy Racing will qualify the Porsche 997 for the Chemung Canal Trust 200 on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., and round five of the Grand-Am Cup Series will get underway at 2 p.m.
