Orison Marketing Planet Earth Motorsports wants two in a row.

North Canton, OH -- With their first victory in the Grand Sports I class, the Orison Marketing Planet Earth Motorsports team is anything but complacent.

"We savored that win at Phoenix for a week or two after the race, but it wasn't long before we began to look forward to the next race at the Glen, and look at what we could do to try to stay competitive," commented driver Joe Nonnamaker. "We have taken the Corvette testing twice now since the Phoenix race, and we have made some progress with the car."

The testing that Nonnamaker speaks of took place at Mid Ohio. The team had three days of testing at the facility to try to improve upon the Corvette's handling package.

"It was a very productive test session," commented Crew Chief Mike Thomas. "The competition in the Grand Sports I class is so tough this year. There are so many Champions and competitive teams in the class that winning a single race is a major accomplishment."

The Planet Earth Motorsports campaign has not had good luck at the Watkins Glen track. For the past three seasons, bad luck has dropped the team out of contention. Last season, Will Nonnamaker was leading the race in the #41 Acura Integra in the Sports Touring II class when he was taken out on the last lap of the race.

"Hopefully this season will be better for us at the Glen," added Nonnamaker. "The last time we had the Corvette here in 2000, electrical issues dropped us out of contention in the closing laps. The Corvette has had a couple more seasons of development though, so hopefully we won't be bitten by any reliability issues."

Qualifying for the 250 mile - three hour race (whichever comes first) will be held on Friday afternoon and the race will take place on Saturday at 5:45.
