Lime Rock was a great race for Kia Motorsports and the Kinetic Motorsports team. The #12 Infinity Audio/HD Radio Forte Koup piloted by Trevor Hopwood and Adam Burrows not only had a stellar drive through the field by Burrows after their pit stop to eventually finish fifth, but also lead the race under Hopwood's command; a milestone for Kia Motors. The #10 Forte Koup driven my Nic Jonsson surprised the field with its third place start and by keeping pace with the leader in second place for the first quarter of the race. The #10 car retired with brake failure in a dramatic way going into Big Ben and a upset but okay Andy Lally climbed out of the car concerned about whether the car's fortunes were doomed for the upcoming race at Watkins Glen.
Lally's fears were unfounded. The #10 car was put back together at a shop in Connecticut over the holiday weekend and haulers and cars are on their way to the Glen.
The team has come a long way in a very short time. Five races into Kia Motors America's short racing history the team finds itself way ahead of its initial goals with back-to-back fifth place finishes (VIR and Lime Rock) and is optimistic that the Glen should be another solid showing.
