Brumbaugh Signs with Team Lexus

COLUMBIA, SC -- (June 15, 2004) -- Professional open wheel racing star Andy Brumbaugh has signed with Team Lexus to compete in the Sport Touring class of the Grand Am Cup at Watkins Glen June 18-19. This marks Brumbaugh's second consecutive start in the Grand Am Cup after competing at Mt. Tremblant last month in the GS class. Brumbaugh will drive the #0 Team Lexus Lexus IS300 along with co-driver Eddie Mady of Boca Raton, FL.

"Sports car racing is where I want to be," said Brumbaugh. "Grand Am is really growing and I want to be a regular part of this series. I have to thank Chuck Goldsborough and Team Lexus for giving me this opportunity. I am really looking forward to driving the Lexus."

"I knew of Andy through his open-wheel accomplishments. He came to Mt. Tremblant with zero professional sports car experience, had never even seen his car before and quickly got up to very competitive times," said Team Manager Chuck Goldsborough. "He drove a smart, clean and fast race. I'm happy to give him a chance to show what he can do with Team Lexus."

Away from Grand Am competition Andy is a student at the University of South Carolina, Team Manager for Aiken Racing in the F2000 Zetec Championship as well as an active driver coach and instructor. He also competes in vintage racing with Amalfi Racing.
