North Canton, OH -- After a one race absence from the team, Shane Lewis will once be joining Joe Nonnamaker in the driver's seat of the #43 Orison Marketing Corvette at Virginia International Raceway this weekend. Lewis missed the team's last race at Mid Ohio when an opportunity arose for him to attempt to qualify for the Winston Cup race at Watkins Glen. In his attempt to qualify, Lewis was also interviewed on the very popular motorsports show, RPM2Night. Although Shane did not qualify, his strong showing turned a lot of heads.

The long straights of the Virginia long course should help the Corvette stretch its legs over the competition. A good finish could move the team up in the points as well. Since the team won at Phoenix International Raceway, they have been slipping back in the points as mechanical problems have plagued the team. Currently Nonnamaker sits in ninth place in the GSI Driver Championship. While the fifty one point gap to first makes the Championship a long shot, Nonnamaker only sits thirteen points behind fifth place in the points. In the Team Points, the same scenario exists. The team sits in sixth place, and is forty five points behind first, a gap that cannot be made up in four races. However, with some luck and good results, the ten point gap to third in the Team Championship could be potentially caught.

"This season has had some ups and downs," commented Crew Chief of the #43 Orison Marketing Corvette, Mike Thomas. "The first Virginia race was not good for any of the three Corvettes in the race, ours included."

"I am excited to drive the Virginia long course," said Nonnamaker. "My boys have told me how much they enjoyed the oak tree turn, and the track looks very exciting on the south end. Going up through the esses in the Corvette at 100++ mph will be an exciting ride I am sure."

The ORISON Marketing - Planet Earth Motorsports would like to thank our partners for making this season possible: EVAPO RUST, GM Performance Parts, GOJO, Miracle Sweep, Stoptech, and US Filter.
