BGB MOTORSPORTS LOOKS TO FINISH THE SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE
(Daytona Beach, FL-SEPTEMBER 29, 2005) After a long season of ups and downs, BGB is preparing for the final race of the season, an event where the duo of Plummer and Cosmo delivered their first win during their first pairing together in 2003. The team has high hopes that they'll deliver two strong finishes for both entries, something that will give them a final burst of momentum to carry them into the 2006 season.
The usual duo of Mark Plummer and Guy Cosmo will be running a not-so-usual entry. The two will be piloting the team's sister car, the black #83 Porsche. BGB will also debut their newest entry to the stable, a 2005 Ford Mustang FR500C. Jim Bosler, who has driven with the team in the past and his co-driver, Porsche Cup Winner, Mike Fitzgerald look forward to competing against not only the other GS entries, but also the other Mustangs.
The team tested at Virginia in Mid-September, giving the Mustang its first laps with Bosler and Fitzgerald at the wheel, and was impressed with how competitive it is out of the box, and the car's great balance as delivered from Ford. The drivers were quick right away and look to capitalize on that speed at Virginia which, with its long straights, should prove to be well suited for the Mustangs.
The team also tested the #83 BGB Motorsports Porsche 996 with Guy Cosmo behind the wheel, and managed to set some very quick times, which bodes well for the upcoming race. John Tecce, BGB Motorsports Team Manager had the following to say:
"Even though our lap times in the Porsche are several seconds faster than last year's, we can't get excited. The bar has been raised this year at every track. The plan right now is for Mark and Guy to drive the #83 because of its testing results and more importantly, I believe it shows that we run equally prepared cars, and that all of the cars in our stable can compete at the top. I look forward to seeing how the Mustang will do with Jim and Mike in it. I think we're all pretty impressed with the car's performance. I'm amazed at how ready to race the car is when it's delivered to your doorstep."
BGB Motorsports is an ambitious, professional Motorsports business. Last year they established themselves as the team to look out for in the Grand Am Cup's GS class. Based in Daytona Beach, Florida, the team operates as a customer oriented business, running cars under the Grand Am Cup, SCCA and Porsche Club of America sanctioning bodies.
