Sullivan Sports Marketing Retained by Grand American Road Racing Association
Daytona Beach, Fla. (October 30, 2003) --Grand American Road Racing Association announced today that it has retained Sullivan Sports Marketing, LLC, a leading sports and entertainment consulting firm based in Daytona Beach, Fla., to enhance the sanctioning body's marketing partnerships and brand development.
Under the direction of President Greg Sullivan, SSM will provide Grand American with strategic guidance and planning for the sanctioning body's sponsorship, marketing, brand management and business development.
"We are thrilled to have Sullivan Sports Marketing representing Grand American," said Roger Edmondson, President of Grand American. "Greg Sullivan brings proven marketing concepts and leading edge strategies to our sponsor and business development efforts."
"The Grand American Rolex Sports Car series has quickly emerged as the premier series for sports car racing in North America," said SSM's Greg Sullivan. "With prestigious events like the Rolex 24 At Daytona and The Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen, and major media markets like Los Angeles and Miami, Grand American will continue to be a dominant force in motorsports."
SSM was founded by Sullivan in 2002; the company has emerged as a leading marketing consultancy in the motorsports industry. This year, SSM will contract over $800 million in marketing rights on behalf of its clients. Sullivan has more than 20 years experience in strategic marketing for consumer goods, sports and entertainment, with worldwide success in business development, promotions and brand management.
Prior to founding SSM, Sullivan was Director of Marketing for Kraft's Maxwell House Division, Director of Promotions for General Food and Vice President of Marketing for International Speedway Corporation. Sullivan has negotiated intellectual property rights agreements and developed marketing programs to support nearly every major sport including the NFL, NBA, MLB, USTA and the Olympics. Founded in 1999, Grand American Road Racing Association continues to grow as it defines and develops sports car road racing programs specifically for North American fans, tracks and competitors. With two major series -- the Rolex Sports Car Series and the Grand-Am Cup Series -- Grand American boasts a competitive broadcast package and a schedule that includes races at premier tracks across the country. The 2003 season heralded the emergence of the futuristic Daytona Prototypes as the premier class of the Rolex Series. With tremendous momentum for these sleek, sporty coupes, couled with Grand American's redefined GT package, the series is looking for continued growth and even more exciting action for race fans throughout the upcoming 2004 season.
SSM is headquartered in Daytona Beach, with offices in Indianapolis and New York.
