Spirit of Daytona Unveils GTO at PRI Show
Spirit of Daytona and Crane Cams unveiled their Pontiac GTO for the Grand- Am Cup Series this weekend at the PRI Trade Show in Orlando, Florida. The GTO will be on display for the rest of the trade show at booth 4101. All in attendance are able to take pictures of the car's red and black Crane Cam paint scheme, and see the car's components under the hood.
"We are all very happy that Crane Crams has teamed up with us in our Grand- Am Cup program. We have a great relationship and it will continue to grow as the series and the racing industry expands. Crane has been very supportive with the development of our GTO program and they continue to help us with all of their knowledge in the racing industry. There has been a lot of interest and excitement involving our GTO and by having Crane Cams in our program we know it will be a success," said Troy Flis, team co-owner and manager.
Roger Wilson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Crane Cams, is also optimistic about Crane's involvement with Spirit of Daytona. "We are extremely excited to be associated with Troy and his race team. Both organizations have similar histories by starting off with grass roots racing and both are out of the Daytona Beach area. Our company provides affordable and quality products for such racing venues and we hope that others will become involved as well. With this partnership we can provide Flis with research and development for his program and he will be able to put our products to the test. We are looking forward to supporting and competing with the GTO in all of 2006 and are expecting a successful season," said Wilson.
Crane Cams currently provides ignitions, coils, distributors, cams, rocker arms and valve train components for the race teams across North America.
Spirit of Daytona will be campaigning a fleet of three GTOs in the 2006 Grand-Am Cup Series.
