Ted Anthony, Jr Joins Mitchum Motorsports
Veteran Racer to Co-Drive #62 Camaro with Atterbury
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (July 9, 2010) - Ted Anthony, Jr of Redmond, WA will be sharing the #62 Chevrolet Camaro for the remainder of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge 2010 season with regular Mitchum Motorsports driver Joey Atterbury. The duo will campaign the Camaro at New Jersey Motorsports Park later this month, Three Rivers in Quebec, Canada in August and at the season finale in September at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.
Anthony has previously enjoyed great success in the Mustang Challenge Series but also has experience racing the more powerful Camaro in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge having raced in round one at Daytona this past January. "I am really looking forward to racing the Camaro again, as well as working with Joey and Mitchum Motorsports. I've been following them all season and have been impressed with the development of the car and the professionalism of the team. I can't wait to get on track at NJMP next week with Joey" said Anthony.
Atterbury, who was previously teammates with Anthony, noted that while he has never shared a car with Ted, he knows first-hand how good a driver he is. "Ted is a really strong driver with plenty of speed and solid racecraft. I fully expect we will continue to run towards the front of the field and am hopeful for our best finish of the year at New Jersey Motorsports Park", said Atterbury.
Mitchum Motorsports team principle Chris Mitchum is looking forward to the new pairing behind the wheel. "Ted is a great driver who I have been watching for a while now. No matter the car, he gets the most out of it and I know he will be very pleased with the improvements in the Camaro we have made over the course of the season", noted Mitchum. "The program we run here at Mitchum Motorsports is centered around developing young, talented drivers which is a perfect fit for Ted - he and Joey will make a great combination."
