The Miami 250 remains scheduled to be run this weekend, September 17 -- 19, at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The revised two-day event format calls for on-track activity on Saturday, September 18th and Sunday, September 19th. Competitor move-in is Friday, September 17th at 2:30 p.m.

Hurricane Ivan continues to be monitored closely and now appears to have taken a more westerly path that may not directly impact the Southeastern Florida area. As we have learned recently, however, these storms can change course very quickly and the next 24 hours should provide a more definitive indication of Ivan's final path.

Although we want to stress the point that we are proceeding with our plans to run the Miami 250 as scheduled -- and encourage our teams and competitors to do the same -- we will make any alternative decision regarding the race by early afternoon on Tuesday.

In addition to our Internet site and these email and FAX bulletins, we have also set up a telephone hotline that will provide regular updates on the status of the race and the storm. The hotline is available at 1-866-451-7223.
