DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (November 11, 2003) -- Grand American Road Racing Association announced today the addition of Ollie Dean to its Marketing Department as Account Manager. In his new position, Dean will focus on the sales and service of sponsorship for Grand American's two series - the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series and Grand-Am Cup Series.
"We're excited to have Ollie join us," said Director of Marketing & Administration Greg Otte. "As we continue to grow, so does our sponsor base. We feel that Ollie will be a great asset in managing our current sponsor's needs and developing relationships with new business partners."
In his new position, Dean will be responsible for new business development for Grand American, in addition to managing day-to-day activities for current sponsors. He will also work on the development of new activation opportunities for current partners and managing sales budgets. Additionally, Dean will support hospitality development programs for Grand American and its teams.
Dean joins Grand American from Daytona International Speedway, where he served as Senior Manager of Corporate Sales. He has also previously worked as the Group Sales Manager for Talladega Superspeedway, Darlington Raceway and North Carolina Speedway.
Dean has been involved in motorsports his entire life, as his father was a professional drag racer for 40 years. Born in Mansfield, Ohio, he grew up outside of Atlanta in Marietta, Ga., and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications. He currently resides in Daytona Beach.
