Limoges ready for Lime Rock debut
Lakeville, CT (27 May 2006)--Valerie Limoges will be making her Lime Rock Park debut this Monday as the Grand Am Cup Series stages a GS-only class battle on the tight 1.53-mile natural terrain road course in the Northwest corner of Connecticut. Limoges will once again team with David Empringham in the Blackforest Motorsports Group No. 4 USG Sheetrock/Ramset Tools Mustang FR500C for a 200-mile battle.
Limoges has made quick progress to learn her way around the tight track, but figures she still has a way to go before considering herself fully familiar with the subtleties of the nearly fifty-year old facility.
"The track is very tight, and I need more laps to feel like I am absolutely getting the most out of every corner, but so far I really like the track because of all the elevation changes," said Limoges.
Limoges will line up on the thirteenth row after setting a fast lap time of 1:00.960-seconds in the fifteen-minute qualifying session on Saturday, but figures that the race set-up for the Mustang will help her move up through the order in the same way she did in the last round in Phoenix.
"I am not sure that we have the best package for this track with the restrictions they have on the car, but we should be good on Monday because overall the car is quite good, particularly in the race set-up," said Limgoes. "We will see how many yellows there are and how that plays out in the race, but hopefully we can be in the top ten or even better by the end."
The race is slated to get underway at 10:05 AM local time. Live timing and scoring will be carried at www.grandamerican.com.
