Ryan Eversley Koni Challenge Lime Report
Hamilton Mill, GA (June 6, 2008) - Coming off a strong twelfth place finish at the Koni Challenge season opener in Daytona, Ryan Eversley was focused and ready to challenge for the win in Lime Rock. Racing for Motorsports Technology Group, Ryan was teamed up once again with Keith Carroll.
Straight from the start of the weekend Eversley and Carroll were fighting an up hill battle with a motor issue. Working on the car's setup the two were able to post the 12th fastest time in practice, but were confident in being able to score a top ten result in the race. Carroll qualified the car in thirty-first and would start to move forward in the beginning of the race. Unfortunately early in the race, contact causes the #21 car to retire.
During the beginning stages of the race the #88 car had missed the apex coming out of turn one and Keith moved underneath to make a pass. As he went to setup for the left-hander, the #88 drove straight into the side of the car. The #88 was issued a drive through penalty for the incident.
"This was a tough day for us and I am bummed Ryan couldn't get in the car, but I can't wait to come back here next year I love this track and this series," stated Carroll.
Ryan was upset with the incident but knows it is a part of racing.
"It is always tough when you don't get to do a lap in the race, especially after a four month break," commented Eversley. "The Marcus guys worked hard during the break to give us a good car and for a bonehead move like that to take us out, it just isn't fair to them. Keith did a great job so we'll move on to Mosport with high hopes and see if we can get a good result."
