Long Pond, PA (May 19, 2009): Following their run in the Laguna sun, Chase Mattioli and his cousin, Nick Igdalsky, plan to drive their new # 47 Pocono Raceway JBS KONI Mustang to a top ten finish at Lime Rock Park, in Lakeville, CT.
While running as high as tenth place at Laguna, the boys hopes of a victory were shattered after a mechanical error which caused the car's clutch pressure to fail knocked them from the race. "These kinds of things are typical in a new car and on a track with so many turns," Chase commented after the race. Even though the boys last two races haven't turned out the way they hoped, Chase is still optimistic and explains that "racing is full of turns, some are for the best, some are for the worst; regardless of which type they are, I am always moving forward". With all of the kinks worked out of their new car, the boys are confident that their luck will turn around and that they will post a top ten finish in Lime Rock.
Following the KONI race at Lime Rock, Chase will be competing in three races over the next four weeks, including a NASCAR Camping World East Stock Car Race, South Boston, VA (May 26th). Also, on Friday, June 5th, Chase and Nick will compete in the KONI Grand Am event at Watkins Glen, with Chase doing double duty that weekend, returning to Pocono to compete in the ARCA-RE/MAX 200 on Saturday, June 6th, a prelude to Pocono's Pocono 500, NASCAR Sprint Cup event on Sunday, June 7th.
