A Good Clean Ride
Lakeville, Conn. (May 23, 2009) - Compass360 Racing continued its hot streak this weekend at the Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge Street Tuner race at Lime Rock Park. Randy's teammates Travis Walker and John Kuitwaard got their first KONI Challenge victories, while a strong fourth place finish for Randy and co-driver Christian Miller kept Christian in the ST points lead. Christian qualified the #74 Honda Civic Si in third position and stayed in the top five until Randy hopped in midway through the race. Randy quickly went from fourth to second but was never able to get around the Ian Baas Volkswagen. He stayed in contention, finishing fourth and adding two points to Christian's points lead.
"We had a good finish. The Compass360 Hondas are so well prepared and the team does such a good job. We had no car issues. Fourth is good but a little frustrating for me. I wish I had been a bit more aggressive. It was a good, tight, tough race. I was very happy to keep Christian in the points lead. I would like to congratulate my teammates Travis and John for their first win. They did a great job. I would also like to thank my personal sponsors Team Janica Racing, WeatherTech, Prairie Hills Motorsport Club, ChaseCam, and saferacer.com for their continued support. The next race is in Watkins Glen which is one of my favorite tracks. We should do very well there."
This is the third victory of the season for Compass360 Racing. Unfortunately the race will not be televised. The next race for the KONI Challenge will be June 5 at Watkins Glen International. Randy's next World Challenge GT race will be at Watkins Glen on July 4.
