Burrows puts Turner Motorsports BMW on front row

(Homestead, FL) 14 April 07--Adam Burrows will take the green flag in Sunday's Grand-Am KONI Challenge 400k from second on the ST-class grid after posting a 1:34.112-second lap on the 2.3-mile road course at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday. Burrows will co-drive the Turner Motorsport BMW 330i with Trevor Hopwood of Lee, New Hampshire.

Burrows was the quickest BMW qualifier in Daytona, and continued to impress in qualifying at the South Florida facility as he moved to the front row in the thirty-six car ST class field.

"I'm starting to get the hang of this," Burrows modestly suggested after the fifteen-minute qualifying session ended. "The BMW has great brakes and is just really well balanced. It feels great to be back racing again and I just want to turn the car over to Trevor so he can bring it home for a good finish."

Burrows and Hopwood took a strong seventh place finish in their KONI Challenge debut at Daytona International Speedway in January, and the two kept their impressive pace up as the Series reconvened at Homestead after nearly three months of inactivity.

The weekend got off to a good start for the two former Spec Racer teammates as Hopwood paced the ST practice during Friday's opening test day.

"It's been a long break since Daytona so it feels good to get back in the car and be quick right away," said Hopwood. "This is pretty much a point and shoot kind of track and the car is well suited for it. The Turner guys have done a great job and we'd like to finish even better than we did in Daytona."
