Doug Goad and co-driver Devon Powell delivered a Corvette victory in the Mont-Tremblant 250, surviving furious competition from a series of Porsche challengers. In the race, which finished up against a three hour time limit, the Team Turbo Porsche driven by Bill Auberlin posed the most serious threat. Auberlin, who drove the entire three hour race distance, spent time in the lead as early as lap 27.

xGoad and Auberlin swapped positions and paint during the race. The two were nose to tail at the front with just half an hour remaining. Auberlin had several off track excursions, one involving contact with Goad, but pushed hard each time to close up on the leader. With 15 minutes remaining Auberlin reclaimed the lead but quickly spun off track. Auberlin was able to hold onto second place after his late race spin.

"Auberlin's car was considerably better under braking and out of slow corners. Our Corvette had the advantage into the fast left hand carousel. I think his (Auberlin) tires were finished. It was a lot of fun," said Goad.

Auberlin found the race exhausting. "I drove for the full three hours. That was the hardest race I have ever done. The Porsche has no air flow and little water. I was driving on marbles; my second set of tires went away immediately. I thought I would wait until the end to try to pass, but the Corvette made a mistake and I took my chance Then I had that spin."

Terry Borcheller and Forest Barber won in GS II, Don Salama and Bransen Patch in ST, and brothers Wayne and Will Nonnamaker in ST II.
