Law, Dyson, G&W team up to tackle competition at Barber Motorsports Park
Grand American Rolex Sports Car series competitor Darren Law, hoping to build on momentum from last weekend's third place in Phoenix, is looking forward to his time behind the wheel of the G & W Motorsports prepared Valley Group/USI Insurance BMW powered Picchio Daytona Prototype.
The fourth race on the Grand American 2003 schedule, The Barber 250 at the Park, which takes place the weekend of May 16-18, at the new Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, promises to be a challenging event for all the teams involved.
Says Law about the upcoming race, "It should be a challenging weekend. The circuit is relatively new, and most teams have pretty limited set up data. The teams that can figure out the track and car set up the quickest will have the best shot at the win. We should be right in the hunt."
In addition to his Daytona Prototype ride, Law will also be driving the G&W Motorsports Porsche GT3 Cup car in the GSI class of the Grand Am Cup series. Darren will be sharing the seat for the three-hour endurance event with Chris Dyson.
"I am really looking forward to running in the Grand Am Cup race again," said Law. "It's always very competitive, and I have had a lot of success in that series. It should be a lot of fun running with Chris Dyson, he's a nice guy and has done very well in the prototypes. I think he and I will make a good team and should do well."
Cole Scrogham, owner of G&W Motorsports had this to say about having Law drive in two very different cars on the same weekend, "Darren is one of those guys that is quick in whatever he drives, and he adapts very quickly to a new car. He and Chris (Dyson) should be very competitive."
