Carter and Plumb save a top three championship spot despite a tough race in Miami!

Al Carter and Hugh Plumb had a tough race last Saturday at Homestead Miami Speedway in the third round of the 2012 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. Despite an 8th place finish, the two B+ racers were able to salvage enough championship points to secure a spot in the top three in the standings.

The race week started on a high note for Al Carter and Hugh Plumb who visited the oncology unit of the Miami Children's Hospital on Wednesday afternoon. Carter and Plumb toured a great number of rooms and met with kids that loved to hear Al and Hugh's racing stories. This event was part of the 2012 "B+ Foundation Fighting Childhood Cancer Tour". Thanks to the Miami Speedway that donated tickets for the kids, The B+ Foundation and the drivers were able to invite some of the children and their families to the race on Saturday.

On Thursday the event started with a promoter test day followed by the first of the two-day days of the Kia 200 at Homestead Miami Speedway. Driving his #45 B+ Foundation - Jetset Magazine Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3, Al Carter qualified 5th on Friday afternoon.

Carter and Plumb welcomed a dozen children and their families to the race on a rainy Saturday. Following a tour of the garages, each of the children was given an opportunity to sit in the 45 B+ BMW to see with their own eyes what it is to be behind the wheel of a race car.

Al Carter took a nice, cautious start and was able to drive a problem free stint and handed the car to his co-driver Hugh Plumb in 6th place. The pit stop was really well executed by the 45 Fall-Line crew but unfortunately the door latch of the car broke right at the end of the pit stop forcing the crew to repair it. Plumb lost 14 positions because of the incident.

Plumb who has been very successful at Homestead Miami Speedway in the past was able to pass multiple cars and come back in the top ten before the next pit stop for tires and fuel. Once again the door got loose and needed to be fixed during the second pit stop. Hugh lost another 10 positions. In the last quarter of the race, Hugh Plumb drove hard and was able to finish 8th and score precious points to maintain a top three in the championship rankings.

During the Miami race week, The B+ racing program welcomed a new partner, Motorsport.com who will follow the B+ team and its drivers behind the scene throughout the year. Motorsport.com is a wholly owned subsidiary of Net Element (OTCQB:NETE), and provides a digital distribution platform via its website and social media networks, of interactive multi-media coverage and experiences including F1, NASCAR, Le Mans and other major race series through exclusive HD and 3D videos and photos, race standings, schedules, locations, race team profiles and other unique content.

The next race will be the 4th round of the 2012 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. The B+ Heroes 200 presented by BCKSTGR at New Jersey Motorsports Park is scheduled for May 10-12. The B+ Foundation and BCKSTGR are the two sponsors of this race and they are looking forward to this exciting event. The two entities have partnered to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer. On May 12, they will invite children and their families from different states surrounding the racetrack, including children from the A. I. duPont Hospital for Children of Wilmington, Delaware. Some of the Heroes will give the command of The B+ Heroes 200 presented by BCKSTGR, wave the green flag and drop the checkered flag.

The B+ Foundation recently launched a unique fund raising program where race fans can easily make a $10 donation while at the track or at home by texting the word "Fight" to 80000.
