Limoges' Alabama charge stops short after strong race opening

Leeds, AL (22 July 07)- A promising race outing for Valerie Limoges at Barber Motorsports Park ended in frustration after the young Canadian lost drive in the Blackforest Motorsports USG Sheetrock/Ramset Tools Ford Mustang FR500C and was unable to finish the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Porsche 250 on Sunday.

After starting from nineteenth on the thirty-eight car grid, Limoges quickly moved up to the top fifteen just four laps into the race before continuing forward to make a move into the top ten. But before she could get the chance, she had to pull the white and red Mustang FR500C off course before co-driver Travis Walker could take over to go to the finish.

"I was really happy because the car was strong in these track conditions, and I was able to pass a lot of people so the first part of the race was great," said Limoges. "Even though I was disappointed with my qualifying yesterday, I was having a great race today and kept moving forward. Travis had a great drive at the Glen and I wanted to turn the car over to him in a good position again today and we were on our way to do that. I am not really sure what happened, but it's just a shame not to get to the finish here. We'll rebound in Trois Rivieres!"

Limoges and Walker will look to make a strong finish to the 2007 KONI Challenge season in the final three races of the season, and are looking forward to getting back to racing at the famed Grand Prix du Trois Rivieres on the weekend of August 17-19.
