CARTER AND PLUMB REMAIN THIRD IN POINTS AFTER WATKINS GLEN

Al Carter and Hugh Plumb finished sixth last Saturday in the Continental Tire 150 at Watkins Glen International Raceway. With this result, they are able to maintain their third place in the 2012 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge driver point standings after seven races.

The Watkins Glen week started with "The B+ Foundation Fighting Childhood Cancer Tour" that included like last year, a visit to the Golisano Children's Hospital at the Rochester Medical Center, New York. Al Carter and Hugh Plumb met children at the oncology unit of the hospital, signed autographs and talked about the Watkins Glen race and were able to put smiles on children's faces that loved interacting with the B+ racers.

Following a very encouraging first practice session, Al Carter started his qualifying session on Friday afternoon with the goal of putting the #45 Fall-Line BMW on the first rows of the starting grid for the race. At the end of the first lap, Carter brushed the wall at high speed and avoided a big crash that could have been costly. Carter was able to save the car and only put some "Darlington type stripes" on the entire left side of his #45 B+ Foundation - Jetset Magazine Fall-Line Motorsports BMW. The car did not feel too good after the incident but Carter was able to continue and qualified 11th.

In the race Al Carter, who was hoping for maximum points, took a good start as he always does and handed the car in 10th place to his teammate Hugh Plumb. Hugh had to battle right away after the pit stop to return to the top ten and did just that in only 8 laps thanks to a great drive. Plumb ran as high as 5th during the last third of the race but in the final laps, despite his will to finish in the top five, he had to give up his fifth place to finish 6th, right behind teammate Bryan Sellers.

The Watkins Glen weekend also marked Al Carter's first participation in the GRAND-AM Rolex Series Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen. Al was driving a TRG Porsche GT3 with Wolf Henzler and Spencer Pumpelly. He qualified 17th in the GT class on Saturday and had a great race on Sunday with his teammates. His car encountered some problems in the last hour but he was able to cross the finish line 15th in the GT class.

Fall-Line Motorsports will participate in the test days on Friday and Saturday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Al Carter and Hugh Plumb will have an opportunity to drive for the first time in their career, on the mythical speedway.
