2006 Grand-Am Cup Celebration Announced

Orlando Marriott World Center to Host Year-End Awards Gala

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (October 7, 2006) -- Marking a milestone for the growing Grand-Am Cup Series, the first stand-alone Awards Celebration in series history will be held at the Orlando Marriott World Center in Florida, Thursday, December 14, in conjunction with the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show.

The Orlando World Center Marriott, one of central Florida's premier hotel resorts, also played host to the 2005 Rolex Sports Car Series Champions Banquet and a similar outstanding evening of celebration will be in store for the Grand-Am Cup Series when the top drivers, teams and manufacturers from the 2006 season will be honored.

The evening begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner at 7:30 p.m. Awards will be presented throughout the evening to the top-three drivers and teams and the winning manufacturers in the Grand Sport (GS) and Street Tuner (ST) classes. Other awards that will be presented during the evening include the Bernheim Improve Your Position Award, the SunTrust Challenge Award and the Performance Drink Endurance Challenge Award.

The Grand-Am Cup Series Awards Celebration is open to all series competitors, sponsors, manufacturers and fans and all attendees of the PRI Show. Business attire will be the appropriate mode of dress for the evening. Tickets are $75 and can be reserved by calling Grand American headquarters at 386-947-6681.
