The events of September 11th are having wide reaching effects in all areas of American life, including Grand-Am. Race weekend postponements or cancellations always cause a ripple effect on the ancillary activities that accompany the main event and lead to many questions. Here is an update of what, where, and when:

-- The September Test Days took place as scheduled and are complete.

-- The Grand-Am Cup Six-Hour scheduled for September 15th will now run on Friday evening, November 2nd, as a Four-Hour under the lights. There will be practice during the evening of November 1st and also in the early afternoon of November 2nd.

-- The Rolex Series Three-Hour scheduled for September 16th will now run under the lights on Saturday evening, November 3rd. There will be practice during the evening of November 1st, in the early afternoon of November 2nd, and a warm-up on race-day.

-- The Grand-Am Cup Awards Party will be held at DAYTONA USA on Friday evening, January 4th, as part of the annual January Test Days. Ticket orders in-house will be forwarded to that event.

-- The Team Owner Party/Reception is canceled.

-- The November Test Days are canceled.

We are grateful to the folks at HSR (Historic Sportscar Racing) for giving up part of their weekend to accommodate Grand-Am. Under normal circumstances we would be entitled to the prime paddock space. These are not normal times. Grand-Am will be using the area called the "auxiliary garage" by Daytona Speedway personnel. In actuality, we will be paddocked outdoors.

All entrants who find the rescheduled event dates, format, or circumstances unacceptable are welcome to submit a written withdrawal and request for full refund of their entry fees. We will be posting a complete schedule on www.grand-am.com.

This event will not be what we planned or hoped for, but with your participation and understanding, it will provide a legitimate end to our racing season. We welcome your continued support.

God Bless America,

Roger Edmondson
