Overall leader, No. 16 Dyson Racing R&S Ford, develops engine problem in 21st Hour Drama has come upon the Rolex 24 At Daytona as the overall leader, the No. 16 Dyson Racing R&S Ford, developed an engine problem at 9:32 a.m. and driver Butch Leitzinger pulled the car over at the exit to the east horseshoe.

According to Pat Smith, a team official, the problem is terminal and the team is not expected to return to the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

"It's extremely disappointing," said Rob Dyson, who owns the No. 16 Dyson Racing Ford R&S and is also the owner and driver of the No. 20 Dyson Racing Ford R&S. "I sure want to come back to this place."

Leitzinger, Andy Wallace and pole winner James Weaver had been driving to the No. 16 Dyson Racing entry to a dominating performance.

Now, all eyes are on the GTS-leading No. 2 Chevrolet Corvette C5-R and drivers Franck Freon, Johnny O'Connell, Ron Fellows and Chris Kneifel, who, if they maintain their current speed, are expected to pass the No. 16 Dyson Racing Ford R&S in about 35 minutes to seize the overall lead.

The No. 31 Porsche GT3R, with drivers Lucas Luhr, Mike Fitzgerald, Randy Pobst and Christian Menzel, lead the GT class and is 31st overall. In the SportsRacer Prototype II class, the No. 21 Nissan Lola of Andy Lally, Paul Macey, Peter Seldon and Martin Henderson hold the lead.

The No. 11 Camaro of Kenny Bupp, Doug Mills, Dick Greer, Simon Gregg continues to maintain the lead in the AGT class.
