Two Worlds for ORISON - Planet Earth Motorsports
North Canton, OH -- When ORISON - Planet Earth Motorsports hits the track at Phoenix for Round 3 of the ROLEX Grand American Series, they will have two Worlds at their disposal.
Both the #41 and #42 SpeedSource Porsche GT3 Cup racers will be painted in the all familiar Neon Blue and Green World paint scheme that fans across the country have become familiar with since the campaign's inception in 1997.
The last time ORISON - Planet Earth Motorsports had two Global Paints schemed race cars was back in 2001 when the team competed in the Grand-Am Cup Sports Touring class. In that season, the team won the Team, Driver and Manufacturer Championship in their Acura Integras. Since that time, the famous World paint scheme has only been seen on single car entries. In 2002 that was the #43 Chevrolet Corvette and in 2003 it was the #41 Porsche 996.
"We are very excited about having both Porsches painted in the World colors," stated Campaign Creator Will Nonnamaker. "It provides us with one more outlet to reach the race fans and the technicians to educate them about the environment. Thanks to the support of such companies as GOJO, NRAuto.com and DENSO Iridium Power, the ORISON - Planet Earth Motorsports campaign has been able to expand our message every year."
Ever since the inception of Planet Earth Motorsports in 1997, the race cars have been painted to resemble the Earth. This is intended to symbolize that "The World is our Vehicle", and remind all of us that we only have one Earth and we have to take good care of it just like we do for our own automobiles. The roof of the race cars has always had the traditional Recycle symbol, emphasizing to the need to reuse our natural resources. At every event that the #41 Porsche races in, the campaign will continue to donate 10% of the prize winnings to a local environmental organization.
